How to Play FreeCell
FreeCell is a single-player card game in which all 52 cards are visible from the start. Your goal is to move every card to four foundation piles, one for each suit.
FreeCell rules
- Build each foundation upward by suit, beginning with the Ace and ending with the King.
- Build tableau columns downward while alternating red and black cards.
- Each of the four free cells can temporarily hold one card.
- An empty tableau column can hold any card or a valid sequence.
- You can move a sequence only when enough free cells and empty columns are available.
How to begin a deal
Find the Aces and identify the cards blocking them. Move low cards to the foundations when it is safe, but keep as many free cells open as possible. Creating an empty column early gives you much more room to reorganize the tableau.
Using hints and automatic moves
In this version, tapping a card sends it to a useful legal destination whenever possible. The Hint button identifies a card and explains where it should go. Undo lets you test another order without restarting the deal.
